Can I Unpack Yet?!?

Yay we moved again and are finally rid of those crazy neighbours!! Actually, we moved last month but the process of getting away from those people has been overwhelming and unnerving. For more of a back story check out this post on why we moved twice in just a few months.  On a brighter note, the new house is great with lots of potential, but also needs work to make it ours.

What the Heck!?!

Frazzle Dazzle SuperMom
So it's obvious that I have not been posting regularly since we've moved into our new place.  I had all these post ideas and future projects, but nothing has gone according to plan.  Turns out the neighbours that our house is attached to are crazy, and not quirky/unique crazy...police have had to be called crazy.  At first when we introduced ourselves, they seemed great.  Friendly, kind, and we'd even planned a bbq to get to know them better.  Since then, they have have instigated a couple confrontations, called us names, smeared dog poop on our front porch, and recently the police were called which ended in an incident report because of their uncooperative behaviour.  The officer even told us that our best bet was to move out of there.  We've consulted the landlord tenant board to learn about our rights and options and we've tried to contact the landlord, but he has chosen to not become involved and told us to move on and try to get along with the neighbour again.

We decided, however, to take the the officer's advice and find a new place to live.  I'm sad that it has come to this because our place is steps from the beach and there is a lake view from the 2nd floor, but the drama continues with the neighbour telling the landlord they want to try to bury the hatchet and then the next day calling bylaw on us to try getting us fined for our new puppy.

So we are now on a house hunt...again.  I'll keep you posted! And yes...we did get a new puppy! Her name is Nellie and she is almost 4 months old.  She is pretty calm with hyper moments, but we're working with her everyday to help her learn.  I've got some dog related project ideas floating around in my head for the new house, so keep and eye out!
Have any of YOU trained a puppy?? Any advice??

Antiquing Part 2

Last week I showed you some of the stunning items available at this antique store, but I took too many pictures for just 1 post so here are some more some antiques. There were sooo many great items, I wish I had a place to put that wicker head board!  Actually I wish I had space (and money) for almost everything in the store! Here are some more of my favourites...

WE FINALLY MOVED & Antiquinq Part 1

Yay we finally moved into a new place!! It's been a while since I've posted, but it's been super busy! First off, I finally finished school...no more homework/papers/essays/exams!!! Then, we moved to a new town, and I started a new job!  But now I've got tons of ideas floating around in my head of things I want to do to the new place, so I look forward to posting lots of DIYs, before and afters, and of course rooms/projects/decor ideas that inspire me!  But since our house is really just a maze of boxes and we're sleeping in the living room until we can get some painting done, I'll show you some of the great places we're learning about in our new area!

For my birthday the other day, B and I found this great antique store, a new favourite of mine, so I took a bunch of photos, with permission of course, of all the great things I'd love to buy, but can't until we find a place for the things we already have.  I can dream though!

DIY: Pompom Projects

the pop couture
Over the last little while I've been seeing spots, actually pompoms, everywhere! I especially love the above chandelier.  There are soo many great ideas that people have come up with on how to use theses fuzzy gems.  I've made pompoms for Norm & Meeka for a while, because Meeka, the kitten, loves to play fetch with them.  Yes she fetches & she's good at it!  With all the great ideas out there, now I feel compelled to give pompoms a new use!  After some inspirational ideas, I'll show you how to easily make your own pompoms.

Bring the Outside In: Colouring Spring

Simply Seductive
The other day, actually Groundhog Day,  we got some good news!  An early spring!! I like winter & snow BUT it has worn out its welcome in my opinion.  Months of winter weather can definitely bring on the blahs & although the snow is still on the ground, there is no reason why we can't liven up inside with spring colour.  Here are some of my favourite items to do just that:

In Love With: Leaning Artwork

Pottery Barn
I change my mind a lot when it comes to wall hangings! I'll have an idea for an art arrangement in my head, get the nails, a level, hammer etc, set everything up, make ONE hole in the wall & decide I don't like the arrangement anymore.  One hole is not really a big deal, but its frustrating, especially when you had to use one of those stupid drywall anchors, and you're left with a eye sore of a plastic dot right in the middle of your wall.  (PS does anyone know how to get those out??)  Anyway, leaning & layering is a great alternative to hanging artwork & also a great alternative when you're renting & don't want to put holes all over your landlord's walls.  Here are a few inspirational leaning & layering art displays.
